Hand-stitched Mile of Gold from Quilting & Learning

This fortnight we had a workshop with Richard McVetis in the Stitch Club 2020 by TextileArtist.org. The project was to make a hand-stitched abstract collage.

Here is my  finished piece. As you can see, it meets all of the criteria except for the abstract part.

More learning with the Traveller's Blanket from Quilting & Learning

Monday was a long weekend in Canada and I happily spent most of the afternoon doing some slow stitching with my daughter. She was embroidering and listening to video essays while I was working on my Traveller's Blanket and listening in on the programs. It was so peaceful and pleasant. I wish that I could spend all of my afternoons like that

Cold and Sunny

For years I've been wanting to make a quilt block that looks like the sun. I found the pattern, Sunnyside, in Spotlight on Neutrals, Quilts and More for Any Decor by Pat Wys. Since I only make one large quilt every two years, making a full quilt for this blog hop wasn't an option, but I still wanted to try out the block.
